Preparation

Tonight 8 members of the embroidery Guild I belong too will be starting a new project - The  Jacobean Leaf Sampler from Royal School of Needlework Embroidery Techniques book. This project will be stitch over many months with a sections instructions being given each month in hope all members keep up and complete the project.  So I have spent the last couple of days transferring the design for everyone. Ended up using the traditional prick and pounce technique.

Great Pembroke Road Sewing Bee

This quilt was started at the beginning of the new year and was going to be a joint project be myself and my sister as a wall quilt for her room at work.
But seeing as I don't play well with others where sewing machines are concerned I took the project and completed it. It has been waiting for about 2 weeks to have the hanging sleeve attched and now it is finally completed and can hang in its new home

Royal Blood

No stitching to report, have been to Wellington to see Royal Blood in concert - awesome show. It may only be January but think it will be the best show I attend this year.... Only downside was the bus ride, older bus with broken air conditioning for both trips and temps around 30 degrees.

Craft today

Today I had a friend's kids for the day so in the afternoon we did craft and coloured and made a fox I found online from mister finch. I want to make a whole flock of them.

New Project takes a bad turn....

I so needed to start a new project - not- but oh well did it anyway! As a reader of Tracy A Franklin's blog I was enjoying watching her Crathorne bug project evolve so decided before she got too far along I had better get it started.  Things were going along well new techniques were being tried and enjoyed and catching up was in sight till yesterday when the next step was shown and it involves seed stitch. A horror stitch to me as it involves that terrible word RANDOM. I do not cope well with random so even though I am viewing this piece as a learning piece - there are some slightly dodgee  stitched pieces I think a wee practice will be in order before I can begin the next phase. But I do recommend checking out Tracy's blog and also stitching the piece it is a lot of fun...

Progress so far.
